Tip # 83 Ignore Society and the Media
This one can be tough. The 3 main things that come to my mind are:
1) Weddings
2) Babies
3) Houses
Society and the media lead us to believe that we need to spend more money on these three things than we really do. Sure, all are expensive endeavors, but you can easily spend way more than you bargained for on any of them.
I know there were certainly things I bought for our wedding that we didn't need. Here are a few good articles about the "essentials" for having a baby. And I think the current "housing/mortgage crisis" speaks for itself!
