Deal of the Week: Target

Target has had some good deals lately.  Here are a few things I picked up over the weekend. Shhh, don't tell Tom about the Starbucks - it's a treat for the holidays.  Also - The Starbucks bags are a pretty good deal. They all have codes on them to enter on Starbucks.com and get points toward a giftcard (I think 4 codes gets you a $5 giftcard? I have to double check).  And on top of that you can take each empty bag into any Starbucks and receive a free coffee when you give them your bag!

Spent: $26.59
Saved: $34.36
Received: $10 Target giftcard

Another Awesome Baby Sale

My friend and I hit up another church baby rummage sale today!  We're kind of obsessed.  We both left our recently fed, sleeping babies with our husbands and stood in the already super long line before 8 am.  (Side note this is the same friend I went to the last baby sale with, and our boys were born on the same day).

I'm not going to link up everything just because I don't have that much spare time. I shouldn't even waste time looking up the retail value for everything but I'm a little obsessive and quite curious!  I spent a hefty $72....yikes! I'm going to guess retail is around $700...let's see if I'm right!

What I paid for the item is the first number, retail cost is in parentheses.

$10 ($80) Fisher Price Papasan vibrating chair
$3 ($45) Stride Rite Shoes
$3 ($20) Osh Kosh B'gosh Shoes
$3 ($15) Ministar turtle soft sole shoes
$5 ($42) Fisher Price Crib Rainforest soother
$5 ($22) Munchkin Wipe Warmer
$4 ($109) Lily & Serena Sling
$2 ($10) Melissa & Doug Puzzle
$2 ($13) Melissa & Doug Sound Puzzle
$0.50 ($15) Eddie Bauer carseat mirror
$2 ($11) Circo Wooden Train Shapes
$2 ($12) Baby Mozart DVD
$2 ($19) Interlocking foam floor mat (numbers)

$3 ($18) Carters striped romper (new with tags)
$3 ($9) Carters sleeper (new with tags)
$5 ($16) 4 piece Carters outfit (long sleeve onesie, vest, long sleeve T, pants)
$3 ($13) Carters short sleeve romper
$0.25 ($7) Carters short sleeve romper
$0.25 ($8) Carter's long sleeve onesie
$0.25 ($12) Carters long sleeve microfleece sleep sack
$0.25 ($20) Gymboree one piece long sleeve outfit
$3  ($20) Carter's Hooded Winter Bear One Piece
The below toys are for my EI (Early Intervention) toy bag since I'm going to be seeing kids in their home:
$0.50 ($20) Whirley Rainmaker Shaker toy
$0.50 ($15) Playskool Duck crawl toy
$0.50 ($7) Fisher Price Ring Stacker
$2 (~$10) 6 various rattles (came together in a bag - $10 is an estimate)

Spent $72

Not my best trip ever - but not too shabby!

Bought:
3 boxes of Puff's
4 bags of croutons
2 Febreze Air Effects
1 Blue Dawn

Deal of Last Week: Baby Deals

Last week we went to another baby consignment sale. It wasn't as amazing as the baby garage sale back in May (although there is another one coming up next week!! I'm so excited and hope it's just as awesome), but we picked up a few items for Adam.

Sorry the pic is so dark.  For $20, we got a warm winter cover-up, a super cute 3 piece winter outfit (complete with a little vest!!), a giraffe costume for halloween, a pacimal, and an old school shape sorter (I had the same one growing up).

Deal of the Week: Target

Um, yeah, it's been a while.  That's what happens when you have a baby! And I will completely confess that our budget went out the window the first couple of weeks after he was born. Thank goodness for giftcards!!
Anyways, the little man and I ventured out on our first trip to Target the other day.  It was quite the adventure, to say the least.  I only got about half of the stuff on my list. Partly because I didn't know how long Adam would be content and partly because we walked and there was only so much room under the stroller.

Spent $32
Saved $28
Received $5 giftcard

Deal of the Week: CVS

I didn't have much time this week to go shopping but managed to pick up a bunch of dishwasher detergent for cheap!

Spent $11.66
Saved $42.37
Received $12 in ECB's
Sadly, apparently CVS is no longer doing their "green bag tag" program. A random $2 ECB printed out at the bottom of my receipt and when I looked to see what it was for, it said that they stopped the program and to accept the $2 as a thank you.  I can't complain, I think over the past 2 years I've gotten at least $20 in free ECB's just from using my own bags!

Deal of the Week: Baby Garage Sale Haul!!!

If you read my regular blog, you already saw my awesome deals I got at this Children's Garage Sale this weekend.  I was lying on the couch last night thinking, I wonder what the retail value of everything I bought was. My pre-research guess is about $500.

There are about a million other things I could be doing right now but I thought this sounded like more fun!  Ok, here is a pic of the goods.

Some of the items are no longer available in stores and can only be bought on ebay, craigslist, or used on Amazon, so I put the average used price (plus shipping) of these items.  Retail cost of the item is the first number, what I paid for it is in parentheses.

$70 ($15) Bjorn carrier
$58 ($2) Skip Hop Duo diaper bag
$30 ($1) Pottery Barn Kids Chamois stroller blanket
$19 ($1) Sophie the Giraffe
$20 ($1) Halo Sleep Sack (Medium)
$10 ($1) Fisher Price Shape Sorter
$20 ($1) Leap Frog Alphabet Pal
$20 ($1) Leap Frog Spin and Sing ($43 on Amazon! yikes!)
$7 ($0.25) O ball
$20 ($1) Medela Pump and Save bags (20 pack)
$15 ($1) Playskool Duck crawl toy
$7 ($0.25) Sassy Pop and Push Car
$5 ($0.50) Black/White Day/Night Opposite Book
$25 (free!) Robeez Slip On Puppy Shoes
$20 ($1) Carter's Dream Cozy Fleece Dinosaur Sleeper
$10 ($0.25) Mini Rainmaker Shaker Toy
$9 ($2) Gerber baby hats (4 pack)
$4 ($0.50) Sesame Street Ernie's Touchdown book
$4 ($0.50) Disney Nemo Opposites Board Book
$4 ($1.50) 3 pack Disney Mickey Mouse Clubhouse mini books
$4 ($0.50) Dr. Seuss's ABC board book
$15 ($1) VTech Move and Crawl Ball

I couldn't find these exact models/items so I estimated cost based on more recent items/similar items (If anything I underestimated price):
$25 ($3) Fisher Price activity mat
$10 ($1) Lands End boys fleece zip up sleeper (new with tags)
$12 ($0.25) First Moments Baseball Onesie/creeper
$8 ($0.25) Long Sleeve snowman onesie

$25 ($2) Little Me Baseball button up shirt, undershirt, and hat
$7 (free) Baby Crinkle Book
$5 ($0.25) Baby Einstein Teether Book

A 92% savings!!!!!

Deal of the Week: Free baby swag!

No shopping trips this past week because I was in a course for work all weekend. It was a great course, but it was all day, Friday-Sunday so there wasn't much time for anything else!

Conveniently, our course was at our hospital downtown, which is connected to Prentice Women's Hospital, and there happened to be a maternity fair on Saturday. So during our lunch break, about six of us pregnant girls went over to check it out.  We all got a free swag bag and picked up some additional goodies at the different tables.  There was a raffle too and four out of the six of us won something! I didn't win, but I was happy enough with the rest of my free stuff!  Here's a pic!

Deal of the Week: Target again!

I made this trip on Monday. I wasn't planning on leaving the apartment (this was my day off from our course we had a couple of weekends ago) but there were some deals with coupon match ups that I couldn't resist!  It was a nice little walk over to Target anyways :)

Spent $4.54 ($2.57 before tax!)
Saved $38.79

I couldn't pass up the baby wipes, even though we are going to use cloth. They were both free with a few coupons I had! I figure if we don't use them I can always donate them.

Deal of the Week: Kmart - This is one lucky baby!

Yeah, I meant to type Kmart. I know, not one of my usual deal stores. Not one of my usual stores to be honest! I printed out a few good Fisher Price coupons a while back and had been waiting to find a good deal at Target to use them. Unfortunately, Target never came through, but I was browing a few frugal blogs today and saw there were some deals to be had at Kmart!!

Spent $42
Saved $54
Received $5 Kmart Giftcard

The puppy ride toy itself is usually $50!  I got it for $15 :D  It was on sale for 50% off and then I had a $10 off coupon.  The other toys were on sale too, and I had $5 in Fisher Price coupons that I used on them as well.  Baby B has some Christmas and first birthday presents stockpiled already!

Deal of the Week: CVS

I haven't been to CVS for a while and I had some ECB's that were expiring soon, so I made a quick trip today.  I was bummed because I had let $6 in ECB's expire, but to my pleasant surprise, I found out my CVS accepts expired ECB's today! I'm glad I asked!  Excuse the Poise feminine product, but CVS basically paid me $3 to buy it ($2 in overage and $1 ECB).

Spent $7.80
Saved $33.47
Received $13 in ECB's

Deal of the Week: CVS

Deal of the Week: 90% off Christmas decorations

I was in Jo Ann Fabric the other day (to fuel my new sewing obsession that you can read about here), and I came across the 10 items they had left from Christmas that were on sale for 90% off. Okay, there were more than 10 items, but it was really slim pickings. I wasn't expecting to find anything I liked, but for 90% off I thought I would peruse the half-an-aisle.  I found these cute winter welcome blocks on clearance for $2 (originally $20) and a little wreath I plan on hanging outside next year for $1.30 (originally $13).
The blocks have little snowflakes on them.

New year, same stores! CVS again!

I had meant to go to CVS yesterday, but just didn't get around to it. I'm glad I went today though, because moments before I went I learned that the Beauty Bucks don't roll over at the end of the year (and I bought a bunch of stuff today that qualifies towards that).

Spent $8.95 + tax
Saved $58.28
Received $20.50 in ECB's!
